Custer to Hot Springs, SD

Severe headwinds (30-50 mph) convinced us to abandon our plan to do all 109 miles of the trail down to Edgemont. We headed into Hot Springs instead, which is what everyone advised us to do anyway.

looks lovely

Sounds like a good call and it yielded nice photos. I'm amazed there are still old phone poles with those glass protectors that older ladies like my mom like to decorate their flower beds with. I wonder if they are operational?

Did you get to pet a wild buffalo?

Looking good..

It looks like you two are really speeding along there. When I looked at the map it seems like it is a long way to bike, but you are just going and going. Yah Cristy and Dagwood.
Go speed racer, go speed racer.. GO!
I love the pictures great terrain....bad wind.

Any chance you come back thru Denver? I have a 90 lb parcel there and I will pay$$ for pick-up and delivery.
Enticing proposition???

Telegraph!

@hgm - it's cooler than that: the pole in the photo is actually a telegraph pole. There is old stuff like this all over the trail. We haven't seen any bison... yet.

@squirrelknitter - we aren't coming back through Denver, sorry.
