Felt Owl
Mom's mom, Grandma B., was incapable of following instructions or color suggestions or anything "helpful" when crafting with a kit or a stamped embroidery piece. Consequently some of her pillowcases sported interesting color combos. You could tell her work because she almost always worked in her favorite signature light blue. The best, by far, were her styrofoam beaded Christmas ornaments from kits. She would go all free form and add glitter pipe cleaners and jazz 'em all up! They were truly dazzling originals.
Point being, the internet is full of helpful tutorials and patterns for genuinely cute softies. There are lots of owls out there even. But, dang it, I want to try my own ideas and wing it. So, here is my version of a felt owl. My sister would like a series of creatures that are important in myth: raven, rabbit, horse, etc., and I will get on that. But, please be prepared for the free form element!
