I just discovered the work of French painter and illustrator Raylambert.  His real name was Gabriel Raymond Lambert (b. 1889 - d. 1967). I love these nostalgic glimpes into French daily life and culture.  Thanks to Agence Eureka.

French ephemera - Watch out for grandpere!

Famile Lahure grandpere
The pigs' expressions are pretty awesome. This is from a card game, 7 Familles, from around 1940-1955.  The families were based on occupation and you had to try and collect all the family member cards.

Agence Eureka has a ton of vintage French ephemera, illustrations, school books, etc.  Birds, anatomy, geography. colonialism, you name it, she's got it!

Thank you

Thanks to everyone who came by my meager paper mache table at the Nob Hill Recycle Art show yesterday — especially everyone who bought something.  Thank you to Kate, Cathy, Fran, Stephanie, Jessi and Katherine for being such cool neighbors.

Sea Creatures by Hine Mizushima

Swimmers by Hine Mizushima

Hine Mizushima creates sea creatures and other fantastic and quirky soft sculptures. Her work will be featured in an upcoming fiber arts show, Lost at Sea, at the Gallery Hanahou in NYC. (They have cool exhibitions but their website...ugh and yuck.)

Another cool one!
