This collection of photos by William Gedney at Duke University Libraries is phenomenal.  The above photo is from the Kentucky, 1964 and 1971 collection.

Embroidered Yoda Kitchen Towel

Yoda DOW towel close up
Day of the Week kitchen towels follow a fairly predictable pattern.  The week revolves around the major household chores of shopping, baking, cleaning, mending, ironing, laundry, and often going to church on Sunday.  This pattern holds true for everyone, across species--from ducks to Dutch girls.

I asked Dagwood to create Day of the Week activities for Yoda.  Here you have the first (and possibly only) Yoda Day of the Week kitchen towel! Thursday on Dagobah is shopping (or foraging) day.  What about Mondays?  I am hoping to see Yoda hanging out laundry in his underwear. Yoda DOW towel

Another paper mache crocodile mask.  I have one more of these in the pipeline, and then I think I'm done with crocodilids for a while.

Kali emboidery by artist Annie Aube

Annie Aube kali embroidery

Another embroidery artist I like is Annie Aube.  She does lots of folklore and mythology inspired pieces and does not shy away from gore. Check out the Morrigna and Sheela na gig.

Hail to the Chief

presidents cross stitch
MonaxMonax
on Flickr is cross stitching a portrait of each President.  Here is a key to the picture above in case you are rusty on what Millard Fillmore looked like.

I especially like the Lyndon B. Johnson because he looks like a crotchety old Texan even in cross stitch!
